Enjoy the world of Takashi Yanase!
Takashi Yanase Memorial Museum comprises a range of facilities
beginning with the Anpanman Museum and Poem and Märchen Gallery.
You can also visit the Annex Hall, Takashi Yanase Memorial Park and others.
The three-story high entrance hall, based on the Campo de’ Fiori in the medieval city Siena, Italy, gives us the impression of an open-air stage.
Inspired by the painting Hide-and-Seek Tree, this is a large mechanical tree that plays the song Anpanman’s March. Some familiar characters appear at the tree every hour.
A to Z
By reading along the A to Z panels on the ground, you can become an expert on Anpanman! Anpanman’s handprint is here too, which you can only find in this museum.
The Big Wall Painting of Anpanman
The wall is full of paintings of Anpanman and his friends. The bottom most Anpanman is the height of a 3 year old child. Let’s stand with Anpanman!
The previously broadcast animated television program Anpanman is screened at the theatre. Experience the thrill and excitement together with the characters in the stories. Please have a rest here when you get tired walking around the museum.
The Open-Air Diorama
Takashi Yanase’s painting Yasai Mura ni Hairu Omusubi-man (Omusubi-man Entering Vegetable Village), is the theme of this diorama. There is a character in the diorama who doesn’t appear in the original painting – compare it with the original displayed in the gallery on the fourth floor and see if you can find the difference.
The Honorary Curator’s Room
Takashi Yanase liked this small honorary curator’s room. Take a close look at the books on the painted bookshelf. They might seem like fine pieces of literature, but they are actually a little strange in some ways…
Stairs and Elevator
The stairs to the fourth floor that shine orange in the sunlight are colored after Dokeen, and the elevator, which has distinctive pink and purple pulleys, is colored after Baikinman. Have a look through the peephole in the elevator when it starts moving!
The Slope Gallery
Your conversation resonates in this small gallery because of the special wall. You can go outside through the door at the end.
Takashi Yanase Gallery
The diversity of Takashi Yanase’s Anpanman world is displayed colorfully in this gallery. There are paintings that Yanase created only for this space, and the original picture book drawings are precious and can only be found here.
The Showcase Collection
Anpanman merchandise is displayed in the showcase collection. The figurines, stuffed toys, stationery, clothes etc. that have been produced thus far are exhibited. Can you find the same Anpanman you have at home?
The Anpanman World
Centering a miniature diorama of the town in which Anpanman and his friends live, the world of Anpanman is depicted diversely. You will enjoy the Anpanman-world playing with Anpanman and his friends.
